What Is Incontinence?

Incontinence is a loss of ability to control the release of urine or fecal matter. In men, incontinece may indicate problems with the prostrate. In women, it is generally not a serious health problem. Types of incontinence include stress incontinence, urge incontinence, mixed incontinence, and fecal incontinence.

  • Loss of urine when lifting, laughing, or coughing.
  • Frequent, intense, and sudden urges to urinate.
  • Loss of urine while sleeping.
